Our Story

We are two sisters born and raised in Bellingham, Washington. Restaurant work runs in our veins, as we were brought up in the kitchen of the Old Town Cafe (on Holly St.), which our parents have owned and operated since we were young. We both dreamed of starting an organic ice creamery, inspired by our time working at the Arcata Scoop in California during our college years.

In the summer of 2021, we opened the Selkie Scoop in Bellingham, where we strive to combine local and organic ingredients into a delicious treat that all can enjoy.

Our Process:

All of our ice cream is homemade in our renovated shipping container located on the Bellingham waterfront. We pride ourselves in also offering plant-based, freshly rolled waffle cones (or waffle bowls) with each scoop.

The dairy in our ice cream comes from the Straus Family Creamery, an energy-neutral, certified organic dairy. Our ice creams contain milk, cream, eggs and sugar, with no added stabilizers.

We also make several plant-based frozen desserts, with bases made with coconut, cashews, and oat.
